Events & Public Engagement

Currently no new events.

At Seen Blue Conservation, we believe that stories have the power to inspire action. Through free public events, film screenings, talks and workshops, we bring together scientists, filmmakers, artists, designers, conservation organisations and local communities to make ocean and water conservation accessible to everyone.

Our events create spaces for learning, discussion and connection, highlighting the people, ideas and solutions shaping the future of our blue planet.

Recent events include:

Ocean & Water Day (June 2026)
Organised by Seen Blue Conservation and hosted at FH JOANNEUM, this full-day public event celebrated ocean and freshwater conservation through science, creativity and storytelling. The programme featured conservation NGOs presenting their work, exhibitions by artists and designers, the launch of our educational campaign Beaches & Beyond, and an evening film festival showcasing ocean and water conservation documentaries. The event concluded with a panel discussion featuring Sabine M. Probst Saavedra and Rasas Welt.

Plankton & Popcorn – Touring Film Festival (November 2025)
Hosted at the University of Graz, this community film event brought together audiences to watch a selection of ocean conservation films, followed by a discussion with Markus Trebuch, Director of Sea Shepherd Austria, and Sabine M. Probst Saavedra, Founder and Director of Seen Blue Conservation.

Alongside our own events, we regularly showcase our work at the International Ocean Film Tour in Graz and deliver talks, workshops and educational programmes for universities, NGOs and community organisations.
